Opening #1: Shopkeeper, Marketing Assistant

Reports To: Sara, owner of Constellation & Co.

Job Overview: We are hiring a shopkeeper and marketing assistant to work at our Constellation & Co. brick and mortar shop! We sell stationery, unique gifts and handmade and locally made goods. We also design and print a line of letterpress stationery in house, so you’ll have the opportunity to wear many hats as part of the Constellation & Co. family. 

Hours: We are looking for someone to work 15-20 hours per week, with an opportunity to grow your hours. Days and times are somewhat flexible. If you’re willing to work occasional weekend days and evenings for events, that’s a bonus! 

Pay: $15/hour

Start Date: August 2018

Responsibilities and Duties:
Opening and closing the shop on time
Helping customers find and choose items
Working the cash register
Restocking items that sell throughout the day, unboxing arriving product
Shipping retail & wholesale orders
Keep the the sales shelves and tables tidy throughout the day
Cleaning up messes that occur, sweep the floor, feed the shop bird
Communicating with other team members and owner about customer questions/concerns/inquiries, and sold out items
Maintaining the customer facing email address, responding as able, forwarding to Sara or other team members as needed
Assisting Sara with Marketing & PR tasks
Helping to package greeting cards after we print them

Qualifications:
Retail sales experience
Familiarity with small business marketing
A good design eye for merchandising and display
Organized and detail oriented
Willing to wear many hats
A friendly, helpful attitude
A self-starter
Willing to do everything from exciting high level projects down to taking out the trash and sweeping the floor

Opening #2: Letterpress Printer

Reports To: Sara, owner of Constellation & Co.

Job Overview: We are hiring a part time letterpress printer to work at Constellation & Co.! We design and print a line of letterpress greeting cards and stationery in house at our Fishermen’s Terminal brick & mortar location.

Hours: We are looking for someone to work 10-15 hours per week, with an opportunity to grow your hours. Days and times are flexible. If you’re willing to work occasional weekend days and evenings to teach or assist with workshops, that’s a major bonus! 

Pay: $15/hour

Start Date: September 2018

Responsibilities and Duties:
Printing our line of greeting cards for in shop sales and wholesale orders
Cutting paper
Maintaining paper inventory
Scoring, counting, and preparing cards for packaging
Cleaning, oiling, and light maintenance of the printing presses
Keeping the print shop organized, clean, and ready for the next project

Qualifications:
Experience running a Heidelberg Windmill
Experience operating a Chandler & Price Platen Press
Experience working with photopolymer plates
Experience setting lead and wood type
Experience mixing ink
