Saint Patty’s Day Inspiration Board

by Sara McNally | March 17th, 2012

In honor of the great holiday that is upon us (and the sudden appearance of Spring green in Seattle), I present to you: two green things that I like.

I really like this Mini Textured Felted Wool Bundle from Purl Soho. They die several fabrics the same color for a unified palette that you can use in all kinds of fun crafty projects. I would love to make a quilt like this. (When I learn how to quilt.) I also really like this sweet terrarium by weegreenspot on Etsy. It’s inspired by the Irish landscape, and even has a “wee” felted sheep. It’s way too cute. My desk would love to have it.

If it would ever stop raining, i’d take some pictures of the Spring-y goodness that is happening all over our fair city right now. But, alas: the rain pours on. At least it’s good for all those daffodils that are blooming!

Vintage Finds: ‘Prentice Rubber Type Set

by Sara McNally | March 15th, 2012

While in Michigan last month, Brad and I picked up this ‘Prentice Rubber Type Set at an antique store. As you see, at one point it cost 35 cents – we paid more than that, but not a whole lot more! The antique stores in Michigan had totally different pricing than we’re used to. Certain items (furniture, glassware, etc.) were priced quite high, but ephemera-type items (books, paper goods, and this beauty) were priced much lower than what you’d find in Seattle. (It was good news for us, of course!) I was so excited when we found this, and i’m thrilled to share it with you now! Continue reading

A Constellation Catalog

by Sara McNally | March 13th, 2012

Last week, we launched our first full wholesale catalog. And let me tell you, it was more certainly a labor of love! Our goal was to send it out in January, but I caught a case of the “it’s not ready yet!” panic. While I would have loved to get it out sooner, I’m really pleased with how it came out. Hopefully it’s worth the wait! Continue reading

Pep

by Sara McNally | March 2nd, 2012

Some days, you just need a pep talk. Small business can be a lonely business if you let it. It’s easy to get caught up in the hard work and long hours, and forget to let people in. Sure, I love design and paper and ink and printing. But those are just things.

The most rewarding part of my job are the relationships I’ve built and the people I get to bring into this space. I love having friends, interns, students and family here to share, chat and help out. Continue reading
